Now it has developed into a tool that can also write to multiple databases, transmit large data sets and perform searches across several databases.<\/p>\n<p>Some numbers that are very relevant to understand X-Road :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2013 over <strong>287 million<\/strong> queries were done over X-road.<\/li>\n<li>Over <strong>170<\/strong> databases offer their services over X-Road in Estonia.<\/li>\n<li>Over <strong>2,000<\/strong> services are used over X-Road in Estonia.<\/li>\n<li>Over <strong>900<\/strong> organisations use X-Road daily in Estonia.<\/li>\n<li>More than <strong>50%<\/strong> of the inhabitants of Estonia use X-Road through the information portal eesti.ee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some of the e-Services provided through X-Road include :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Presenting a registration of residence electronically;<\/li>\n<li>Checking one\u2019s personal data (address registration, exam results, health insurance, etc.) from the national databases;<\/li>\n<li>Declare taxes electronically;<\/li>\n<li>Check the validity of your driving license and vehicles registered to your name;<\/li>\n<li>A newborn child receiving health insurance automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What about Opening up X-Road ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The news just announced yesterday, is that the development group of a new generation of the X-Road started in July jointly with Finland has made a historical decision by initiating an open X-Road developer community.
